About Me:

Hello! My name is Julianna- I'm from Long Island and I earned my bachelors from the University of Chicago. I knew I wanted to be a physician-scientist because of the amazing experiences I had in undergrad in both clinical and basic science research. While at UChicago, I worked as a research assistant in the Kidney Stone Laboratory; my project with Dr. Elaine Worcester, Dr. Fredric Coe, and Dr. Megan Prochaska investigated outcomes of patients who had resective bowel disease surgery and nephrolithiasis. I also investigated metabolic kidney acid excretion by performing acid-base titrations on urine samples. Additionally, I worked on two of Dr. David Meltzer’s studies: the Hospitalist Project and the Oral Health Clinical Study. After graduating, I worked at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai for two years as a clinical research coordinator. I worked for Dr. Nina Bhardwaj’s lab as a part of the Immunotherapy Group at the Tisch Cancer Institute. My role included research in both Phase I and Phase II cancer drug trials, and in non-therapeutic studies.

I could not be more excited to start my MD/PhD journey here at UACOM-T! In my spare time, I like to cook, travel, and try new foods. Besides being a physician-scientist, it is a life goal of mine to be like Anthony Bourdain in Parts Unknown.
