About Me:

Despite being a Colorado native, I’ve spent the majority of my life living in California and am now experiencing Arizona life for the first time. My main interest is in mental health and mental illness, topics which historically have been long on intuition and short on science. In the past I worked in a behavioral research lab studying the early warning signs of autism in infants, but my goal is to uncover the brain mechanisms that underlie mental illness, not just the resultant behaviors. My interests outside academics include writing short fiction, analyzing how movies tell stories, and playing video games.
